CHARRED - DatGen's Character Editor

Soon we will be releasing the first phase of CHARRED. CHARRED is a very thourough and easy to use tool that will allow you to tweak every aspect of your sims. You'll be able to edit their life state, interests and skills, aspiration and influence, change their appearance through clothing and body traits, and much, much more.

Our goals with this plugin are to make it simple to learn and easy to use, as well as save to use, so you won't cause any damage to files or games. To ensure that we achieve that goal, CHARRED will be released one part at a time, starting with editing Interests and Skills, and possibly Personality. As additional features are completed, and existing ones are debugged, successive releases will be made to keep everyone up to date.

Look for the first functional release of CHARRED soon. It will be uploaded to the downloads area of DatGen's site here on TSW. Until we mention otherwise, all CHARRED releases are BETA, and appropriate precautions like backups should be taken when using this plugin.

I downloaded, unzipped, and ran the latest version of DatGen. I read the tutorial which indicated that there is a button on the panel that will open Charred, but there was no CHARRED icon to select. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something wrong with my download? $\:\($ All I really want to do is repair some relationship links that disappeared. I have adult sims who do not know their parents or siblings, and elder sims who do not know their children grew up and now have children of their own. Can anyone help?

I am not understanding how to install datgen when i am in the WinZip program, please help soon! $\:wacko\:$

In response to Feline1992 this quote from the tutorial may explain it.

"If you don't already have one, download a ZIP extracting tool (I highly recommend you use something other than the built-in Windows XP ZIP extractor, as its hard to properly extract DatGen with it.)"

I use Ace Archiver, I think you can download it for free. $\:\)$
